Chrono Trigger Story Part 3

Step 21: What Lies Beyond?

Melchior tells Crono to track down Dalton. Crono manages to find him at the Queen's Palace, but Dalton retaliates by attacking the team. After Dalton is defeated, he leaves open a portal to the Ocean Palace, the secret lair that Queen Zeal and the rest of her team is operating out of. Crono, Lucca and Marle jump in and are transported there.

Step 22: Lavos Beckons

Crono, Lucca and Marle emerge in the Ocean Palace, and crawl their way through it, little by little. Eventually, Crono runs into Dalton again, who sends a team of Twin Golems to defeat Crono. They fail and Dalton flees to the room where the Mammon Machine is held.

Crono and the team go into the next room only to find that Queen Zeal is extracting Schala's power to revive Lavos through the Mammon Machine! She finishes her ritual just as Crono barges in. Zeal sics Lavos on the team and leaves. Crono, Lucca and Marle put up a brave fight but are defeated and Lavos destroys Crono. Marle and Lucca are flung back to the surface.

.

Step 23: The New King

Lucca and Marle awake and find Ayla with them. After a slow mourning of Crono, they trot to the Last Village to see if they can collect any information. Instead, they are greeted with Dalton, saying he is the new king. He captures the girls and throw them onto his enormous ship, the Blackbird.

When the group comes to, they find that all of their weapons, items, and money have been stolen. The girls search through the Blackbird and have to cough up all the items, piece by piece.

After the girls manage to get their items back, they walk onto the wing of the Blackbird, where Dalton is waiting in an enhanced Epoch. He sends his last Golem, the Golem Boss on the girls, only to find out that it is afraid of heights. It flees and the girls jump onto the Epoch for a final battle with Dalton.

Dalton is defeated and, with no captain, the Blackbird crashes. Lucca, Marle and Ayla reclaim their Epoch and go in search in Crono.

Event 1: the Time Egg

At the only village on the surface in 12,000 BC, many people say that they have seen a strange man on the North Cape. The team goes and find that it is Magus. Magus holds many surprises, saying he has already done his traveling through time.

He began life as Janus, the younger brother of Schala with one day a portal opened up and he was flung to 600 AD, where he met Ozzie. Magus was hailed as a God and grew up in that time era.

Eventually Magus gained the knowledge to travel through time and he went back to 12,000 BC as an adult, where he served as the Prophet to the Queen, where he could guide time as he saw fit.

Before Lucca and the others leave, Magus offers to go with the team. The team is distrusting at first, but Magus says there may be a way of bringing Crono back, to which the team allows him in. Magus says the carnival operator in Leene Square 1000 AD, Norstein Bekkler, will be able to bring Crono back.

The group arrives at the show and Norstein challenges them to a game, where they win. Norstein gives them a clone doll of Crono and says they must climb Death Peak and use the clone to get Crono back.

At the End of Time, Gaspar, the old man, gives them the Chrono Trigger, a small egg that is also crucial to bringing Crono back.

The team goes to Death Peak and struggles to reach the peak. After several encounters with Lavos Spawn and Undead, they finally make it and find that through a warp, time has been frozen the exact second before Crono died. After replacing his body with the clone, the team runs off, arriving back at Death Peak. They have brought back Crono!

Event 2: The Hero's Grave

Following a tip from Gaspar, the team heads to the Northern Ruins, an old fort where Cyrus the warrior lays. He died fighting Magus, and Glenn (a.k.a. Frog) witnessed the entire event. Crono decides it is time to visit the Ruins.

After employing some workers to repair the Ruins, they are free to explore. Frog finds Cyrus's grave and upon seeing it, Cyrus's ghost arises and a mystical connection is made between the two. After talking for a bit, Cyrus says he must leave. After he does, though, Masa and Mune talk again and say they are able to power up the Masamune to an even greater power level. They do so, and Frog is left with the Masamune and a talk with Cyrus's ghost.

Event 3: The Green Dream

Crono once told a woman in Zeal Palace in 12,000 BC to plant a small seed with hope in the future. In 600 AD, though, the forest-lover Fiona says that the Retinite (Some sort of giant sand-monster) is destroying all the trees in the once huge forest. Crono dives into it's lair, the Sunken Desert, and fights off the Retinite.

After telling Fiona the good news, she is very excite, but says that someone must help her fertilize the seeds before they can grow again. Robo volunteers and sets to work for 400 years.

Back in the year 1000 AD, Crono is shocked. They is a huge forest where there was once desert, and a cathedral has been built to Fiona and Robo. Crono manages to revive Robo, even after 400 years of hard work!

Later that night, Robo says that Lavos must be stopped in order for all the chaos to stop. The group chats for a while, and Marle asks Lucca if there was any point in time where she would like to go back to, and Lucca says no.

Late that night, though, Lucca slips into a mysterious Time Gate to the moment where her mother was crippled. She manages to stop the machine that destroyed her legs and Lucca sits her bed after saving her, crying with happiness.

When Lucca returns to the past, Robo is waiting for her, saying how compassionate she is. Robo then gives her the Greendream, a rare and powerful item.
