How To Power Up Masamune (From Walkthrough):

3. Lay Cyrus's Ghost to rest.

A. After you defeat Dalton on the Blackbird, go to the Cafe - 600 A.D. and talk to the man who needs some Tools.

B. Go to the Choras Inn - 1000 A.D. and talk to the man who is drinking root beer. He will let you borrow his Tools if you go see his wife. She's in the Residence just to the left and down from Choras Inn.

C. The man's wife will give you the Tools and tell you to take good care of them. Return to the man at the Cafe - 600 A.D. and give him the Tools. Go down and left to his Residence and he'll start to repair the castle.

D. Go to the Northern Ruins and clear out the monsters. Go back to the man's house and pay 2,000 gold to have him repair more of the Ruins.

E. Go to the Ruins again and clear out the monsters. With Frog in your party, go to the basement. Cyrus's ghost appear. After you talk to him, the Masamune will be powered up.

F. Go back to the man's house for a third time. Pay another 2,000 gold to have him finish repairing the castle.
