Weapons
Finger Shot- The game description for the Finger Shot says Fingers
shoot bullets'. Geno will fire a bunch of pellets at the enemy and it will
make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit
correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of
small stars. This is the first weapon that Geno can equip. If you go back
and talk to Gaz after Geno joins your party, Gaz will give you this for free.
This is the first of gun attacks that Geno will have available to use. The
Finger Shot has an attack rating of 12 and can be purchased at the Moleville
Item Shop for 50 coins or you can get it for free from Gaz in the Rose Town
Inn.
Hand Gun- The game description for the Geno's Hand Gun says It packs
a kick'. Geno will fire a bunch of bullets at the enemy and it will make
cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly,
there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars.
This is the second gun attack that Geno will be able to use in the game.
Geno's Hand Gun has an attack rating of 24 and can be purchased at the Marrymore
Inn/Shop, the Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop, the Sea Item Shop, and
the Sunken Ship Salesman for 75 Coins.
Double Punch- The game description for Geno's Double Punch says A handy
double rocket punch'. Geno will launch two rockets at the enemy and it will
make cause a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit
correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of
small stars. This is the second punch attack that Geno will be able to use
and it will be one of the easiest of his weapons to get a timed hit with.
Geno's Double Punch has an attack rating of 35 and can be purchased at the
Seaside Town Weapon and Armor Shop for 88 Coins.
Hand Cannon- The game description of Geno's Hand Cannon says Shoots
bullets from elbow!'. Geno will fire a bunch of large bullets (cannon shells)
at the enemy and it will make cause a splash of small stars when it hits.
If you did the timed hit correctly, there a big star shaped flash will occur
before the splash of small stars. This is the third gun attack that Geno
can use and it is the best weapon that can be purchased for him. The only
weapon that he can use that is stronger than this is the Star Gun, which
can be found behind one of the 6 Big Red Doors in Bowser's Keep. Geno's Hand
Cannon has an attack rating of 45 and can be purchased at the Nimbus Land
Item Shop for 105 Coins.
Star Gun- The game description of Geno's Star Gun says Try shooting
stars!'. Geno will fire a bunch of stars at the enemy and it will make cause
a splash of small stars when it hits. If you did the timed hit correctly,
there a big star shaped flash will occur before the splash of small stars.
This is the fourth gun attack that Geno can receive and it is the strongest
weapon that is in the game for Geno. The Star Gun has an attack rating of
57 and can be found in Bowser's Keep after completing the Gu Goomba Fighting
Room, which is one of the 6 Big Red Doors there.
Timed Hits
Timing a Punch Attack: To perform a Timed Hit when Geno is equipped with
the Double Punch or no weapon, press the A Button just before Geno punches
the enemy. The attack will consist of two punches.
Timing a Shot Attack: Timing a Shot Attacks is very similar to timing a Punch
Attack -- press the A Button just before Geno fires to cause extra damage.
The weapons that use this type of attack are the Finger Shot, Hand Gun, Hand
Cannon, and Star Gun.
Armor
The armor below is listed in order of weakest to strongest.
Mega Cape- This can be purchased at the Moleville Item Shop or the Seaside
Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 22 coins. It increases Defense and Magic
Defense by six points each.
Happy Cape- This can be purchased at the Marrymore Inn/Item Shop and the
Seaside Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 38 coins. It increases Defense by
12 points and Magic Defense by six points.
Work Pants- These can be purchased at the Rose Town Item Shop and the Seaside
Town Weapons and Armor Shop for 22 coins. They increase your Speed, Attack
and Magic Defense by five points, your Attack and Magic Attack by 10 points,
and your Defense by 15 points.
Sailor Cape- This can be purchased at the Seaside Town Weapons and Armor
Shop, Sea Item Shop, and the Sunken Ship Salesman for 50 coins. It increases
Defense by 18 points and Magic Defense by nine points.
Fuzzy Cape- This can be purchased at the Nimbus Land Item Shop for 70 coins.
It increases Defense by 24 and Magic Defense by 12 points.
Fire Cape- This can be purchased at the Hino Mart in the Barrel Volcano
and from Croco in Bowser's Keep for 90 coins. It increases Defense by 30
points and Magic Defense by 15 points.
Star Cape- This can be purchased from Croco in his second Bowser's Keep location
for 100 coins. It increases Defense by 36 points and Magic Defense by 18
points.
Super Suit- Perhaps the most mysterious item in Super Mario RPG, the Super
Jacket is also the hardest item to get! It will be given to you in Monstro
Town if you succeed in doing 100 Super Jumps in a battle. (Use Mario's Super
Jump Attack on an enemy, then press the Y Button just before hitting the
opponent to hop on his head again. Do this 100 times WITHOUT falling off.
Good luck!) Everyone can equip the Super Jacket. It increases Speed by 30
points, and Attack, Defense, Magic Attack, and Magic Defense by 50 points.
Lazy Shell- The Lazy Shell Armor can be found in the clouds after giving
the Gardener in Rose Town the Seed and Fertilizer. Climb the vine the Gardener
grows to locate the Treasure Box with the Lazy Shell Armor. The Lazy Shell
Armor can be equipped by everyone, but it's a trade-off -- you lose speed
and attack power for superior defensive strength. It reduces Speed, Attack
and Magic Attack by 50 points each, but increases Defense and Magic Defense
by a whopping 127 points each.
Special Attacks
Geno Beam- The Geno Beam is the Special Attack that Geno Starts the game
with. Hold the Y Button until three stars appear in the lower-right corner
of the screen, then let go to shoot. The Geno Beam uses three Flower Points
and has a Magic Power rating of 40.
Geno Boost- Geno can use the Geno Boost on any party member to bring that
character's Attack Power up. The increase in Attack Power only lasts during
the battle; once the battle ends, the character's Attack Power will return
to normal. For the highest power-up, push the Y Button just before the boost
ends. Geno Boost uses four Flower Points and Geno will learns it at Level
8.
Geno Whirl- When using the Geno Whirl Special Attack, press the Y Button
prior to contact for a critical hit. Geno Whirl uses eight Flower Points
and has a Magic Power rating of 45. Geno learns Geno Whirl at Level 11.
Geno Blast- The Geno Blast hits all the enemies on the screen. Like the Geno
Beam, you can power the Geno Blast up by holding the Y Button until three
stars appear on the screen. Geno learns this Special Attack at Level 14.
Geno Blast uses three Flower Points, and has a Magic Power rating of 50.
Geno Flash- The Geno Flash is a stronger version of the Geno Blast. It uses
16 Flower Points, has a Magic Power rating of 60 and is learned at Level
17.
