| Bambino Bomb | Take it to Pa Mole in the Moleville Mines to open a cave that was blocked during the cave-in. | Moleville Mines, after you beat Croco |
| Beetle Box | The Beetle Box is an insect cage for storing your collected beetles on Booster Hill. You can take the Beetles to the shop that sold you the box and get money for them. | The Beetle Box can be purchased at Beetles Are Us in Seaside for 50 coins AFTER you pay 100 Coins for the initiation fee. It can only be bought after you've found the fifth Star Piece and have released the people of Seaside. |
| Big Boo Flag | This flag is one of three that the Musty Fears ask you to find if you take a nap in their bed in Monstro Town. (You can't find it if you didn't snooze there.) | Go to Yo'ster Isle and look between the letters "O" and "A" on the racetrack goal line. |
| Castle Key 1 | Use it to open the door guarded by the Heavy Troopa. | The first Castle Key will be given to you by one of the former castle workers when you free them in the Nimbus Land Castle. Use it to open the door guarded by the Heavy Troopa. |
| Castle Key 2 | It will open the door Birdo was guarding. | The second Castle Key is received after you defeat Birdo in the Nimbus Land Castle. |
| Cricket Jam | Give it to Frogfucius, he will give you 10 Frog Coins. | The Cricket Jam can be found in the Kero Sewers by going through the Smoke Cave at Land's End. (This is the cave with puffs of smoke emitting from it.) |
| Cricket Pie | Give it to Frogfucius in Tadpole Pond, he'll give you the Froggie Stick, a weapon for Mallow. | Once you've destroyed Mack and received the first Star Piece, trade the Rare Frog Coin at the Item Shop in Mushroom Kingdom for the Cricket Pie. |
| Dry Bones Flag | This flag is one of three that the Musty Fears ask you to find if you take a nap in their bed in Monstro Town. | It's found underneath the bed in the Pipehouse at Mario's Pad. To locate it, press the A Button while facing the bed. |
| Elder Key | Used to open the door in the hall with the pictures. This leads to the Chomp -- Bowser's first weapon. | The Elder Key is found in Booster Tower, after you view the second set of Boosters' pictures in the correct order. |
| Fertilizer | The Fertilizer is one of two items needed to make the Gardener in Rose Town grow a vine. | The Fertilizer can be found only after Valentina has been defeated. To locate it, push along the far-right side of Nimbus Land until you find an invisible path. At the end of the path you will find a Shyster floating around. Talk to the Shyster and it will give you the Fertilizer to keep you quiet. (The Seed is the other item you need for the vine.) |
| Greaper Flag | This flag is one of three that the Musty Fears ask you to find if you take a nap in their bed in Monstro Town. | Stand behind the Welcome sign in Rose Town, face the sign and press the A Button. |
| Rare Frog Coin | The Rare Frog Coin is a Special Item that was stolen from Mallow by Croco. You can trade the Rare Frog Coin at the Item Shop in Mushroom Kingdom after Mack has been defeated to get the Cricket Pie. | To recover it, defeat Croco in Bandit's Way. |
| Room Key | The Room Key is used to open the room holding the Zoom Shoes in Booster Tower | It's found on the floor with some coins in the upper section of the tower. (This is the floor that looks like a gold and black checkerboard, where you get attacked when you step on some of the tiles) |
| Seed | The Seed is one of two items needed to make the Gardener in Rose Town grow a vine. (The other item is the Fertilizer.) | The Seed can be found in Bean Valley after beating Smilax. It will float onto the screen above the location where Smilax was. |
| Shed Key | The Shed Key is a Special Item that unlocks the door to the building in the bottom-right corner of Seaside Town, where the real townspeople are being held. | You can find it after you have beaten Yaridovich and recovered the fifth Star Piece. |
| Soprano Card | The Soprano Card is the third and final membership card for the Juice Bar at Tadpole Pond. | You can get it from Toadofsky after playing the third song, "Monstro Town Star's Song" at Melody Bay. (The song's notes are La Ti Do Re So Do Re Mi.) You must have already entered the first two songs and have reached Monstro Town before you can get this card. |
| Temple Key | The Temple Key is used to feed Belome in Belome's Temple and access a treasure room. | The key is visible on a ledge in Monstro Town. To get it, talk to the Thwomp in the second room from the left in Monstro Town several times. Eventually, the key will fall off the ledge. |
| Tenor Card | The Tenor Card is one of the membership cards that you can use at the Juice Bar in Tadpole Pond | It's given to you by Toadofsky after entering the second song at Melody Bay. You must have already entered the first song and have rescued Dyna and Mite from the Moleville Mine to get the Tenor Card. |
