Well, it appears that we have a case of mistaken identity here, but you can't let them know that you're not really a Shinra soldier. Just put on the uniform and listen to the captain'scrap. After he finishes up with you, go save your game in the hallway and join the soldiers outside, where you'll follow them out to the parade, which you're apparently late for. Just try to get in step and go with the group, bobbing your gun on the way; it's hard to do really well and get the good prizes right away, but after a bit of practice, you should be able to snare the 6 potions which come with a TV rating in the 30's, 6 Ethers with ratings in the 40's, or 5000 gil with TV ratings of 50% or higher instead of the grenades that you get for screwing everything up; who said being a soldier didn't pay!

After leaving the parade, go out to the docks and listen to Rufus and Heideggar shoot the breeze. Once you're dismissed, go with the captain and learn the moves for Rufus' sendoff, as well as the grand finale. Seems these Shinra soldiers are a little low on finesse!

Once you're done, it's time for you to go explore Upper Junon. Your first stop: The Materia shop, where you can pick up some brand new materia: Revive, which revives downed companions, and Seal, which silences foes and puts them to sleep. Seal's not too big of a deal, so if you're low on cash, you can always skip it and grab one later if you wish, but it's important to pick up Revive and keep it equipped on a party member at all times, as it is one of the most important Materia in the game. After you're done in here, head into the weapon shop. You can buy new weapons for all of your characters, but if you've been stealing wisely and hit Fort Condor on the way, the only characters that should need new weapons are Cloud and Yuffie, if you have her. Pick up the Hard Edge for Cloud, unless you plan to do really well on the military review game and score a Force Stealer, which won't be available until you hit North Corel. You may want to go downstairs while you're here and see what Rude's up to. Pick up whatever you want at the newarby item shop, which doesn't have anything new, just the essentials. Don't miss the local Shinra training center, where you can pick up several of the various source items, another Enemy Skill materia, and the 1/35 Soldier, which has no use whatsoever! After you're done here, check out the other side of Junon, where you'll find Reno and Elena killing time in a bar, another inn/materia/accessory shop, where you can save your game and pick up a couple of accessories to prevent status ailments or more of the basic materia, if you want. In the sauna, you'll find a Speed Source, as well as another 1/35 soldier upstairs. Finally, make note of the Weapon shop, which may not have anything special right now, but will have plenty of surprises later. After you're done shopping, go meeet Rufus at the ship.

It's time for the military review in front of Rufus and Heideggar (and Red XIII). This one's pretty easy and  you can win some good prizes. Try to score between a 60 and a 90, where Heiddegar gives you a special bonus, the HP Plus Materia! Sure, Heideggar, I won't forget it, especially when it helps me whup your fat butt! If you score 50 or below, you'll get the Silver Glasses, which aren't that helpful, while you'll get the Force Stealer, a double AP sword for Cloud if you score over 100. You can go for the Force Stealer if you want, but I found the Hard Edge to be perfectly adequate for the voyage and trip to North Corel. Besides, you can't get another HP Plus materia before you reach Cosmo Canyon, and it'll come in handy on the way. Board the ship and head on over to the new continent. Hope you don't get seasick!
