Welcome to the high seas! Now, you know your whole party has snuck on board with you, but since you're all disguised, you're going to have to find them all. Before you start, check the chest to the left of your starting point, which contains an Ether. Next, check out the soldier puking by the blue Materia orb; it's Yuffie, and she's seasick! Help her out by giving her a tranquilizer and once she leaves, you'll be able to grab the All Materia she was standing by ! Next, talk to Aeris, who's right up ahead. Head to the top of the ship and climb the nearby ladder, where you'll find Tifa waiting for you. Finally, the soldier atop the deck by the Save Point is Nanaki, waving his tail as always. The guy on the far left of the top deck can sell you a HP/MP restorer if you're tired, and if you need something, he's got Potions and Phoenix Downs aplenty! However, Barrett is strangely missing, so you'll need to go talk to Aeris again in order to proceed. After talking to her, the soldier near Nanaki vanishes and you can go find Barret, who's right where you'd expect, listening in on Rufus and Heideggar! After the alarm sounds, go back to meet the rest of your party. Pick a party to go find Sephiroth and go after him! I personally stuck with Cloud, Nanaki, and Tifa, my favorite trio, but you may want Aeris for her healing power here. Make sure to save your game before you go down to investigate the disturbance, and equip somebody with the Steal Materia, which'll come in handy. If you're using Red XIII, make sure to equip his Magic Comb. Once you're ready, head on down to the main cargo room and prepare for a fight!

Once you hit the main floor, go check out the bodies of the guards and grab the All Materia from where you found Yuffie. Even though Sephiroth awaits in the Engine Room, you may want to stay in here a while and pick fights with the soldiers, as the Marines hold the Shinra Beta armor, which is better at defending against physical attacks than the Carbon Bangle and has an extra materia slot, so you may want to try stealing a couple while you're here. Once you're ready, invade the engine room and meet Sephiroth! If Yuffie's in your party, climb the catwalk and grab the Wind Slash, a new weapon for her, before you approach. When you do, be prepared to come face to face with a monster!

BOSS: Jenova-Birth

What in the world is this? Why, it's Jenova, Spehiroth's decapitated mother, whom you last saw in the Shinra building! Luckily, you don't have too much to worry about. Even though Jenova has 4000 HP, she's really a pushover. She can cast Stop and can use a tail laser shot that hits everyone for about 100 HP, but she fights extremely slowly, so your characters can get in several shots before she gets one off. Just nail her repeatedly with Limit Breaks, Summon Spells, and Level 2 spells, if you have any, and she'll be a piece of cake! Once you defeat Jenova, you'll receive the White Cape, and she also leaves behind the Summon Materia Ifrit for your troubles. After beating Jenova, the ship docks and leaves you in sunny Costa Del Sol!

Once you arrive in Costa Del Sol, relieve yourself of the Shinra uniforms, kick back and relax! Watch Rufus and Heideggar talk and then explore the town. You can leave if you want, but the town has some interesting stuff for you to find. First, go down to the beach, where you'll find Hojo vacationing. After chatting with him and getting no conclusive answers, go back up to the main part of the town. Look around and you'll find that the extra party members have decided to engage in various interesting behaviors while they're here, such as playing soccer with kids, taking a job in a Materia shop (Wonder who?), preening in front of a mirror, or simply relaxing. Mingle with the townfolk and check out the shops, where you can pick up any materia you've missed along the way, or other miscellaneous goods; the only new thing here is the Soft, which cures petrifaction. Make it a point to check out the bottom floor of the Shinra Villa, which was President Shinra's condo and is now on the market for $300,000 gil. Down here, you can find the Motor Drive, a weapon for Tifa, the Fire Ring, which cuts damage from Fire attack, and yet another Power Source. Just for fun, when you see Red XIII playing soccer with the kids, get in front of the ball and press O to smack your furry friend one! Stay at the inn if you'd like, or head on out, over the mountains, to the Gold Saucer, Sephiroth's latest known location.
